Togo-based AfricaWest Cargo Airlines recently revealed its business expansion plans for the remaining half of this year and 2014. The announcement stated that the carrier wants to serve 21 principal destinations by the end of 2014, and will ensure steady and uninterrupted services following the latest introduction of a Boeing 737-300F aircraft to the cargo airline's fleet. The unit began services to Douala (Cameroon), Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire (both Congo) in early May.

TAP Portugal is increasing operations to the southeast African country Mozambique for this year's northern summer season. Starting today (5 June), and until 18 September 2013, the southwest European airline is adding a fifth weekly service on its Lisbon – Maputo route, operated with either an A330-200 or A340-300 aircraft.

Turkish Cargo is launching once per week cargo flights to Karachi (Pakistan) and Singapore today (5 June 2013). With the new cities, the freighter network of the Istanbul-based carrier now covers a total of 46 international destinations.

From today (3 June 2013), Turkish Cargo is starting to operate a freighter route that links Istanbul with Entebbe (Uganda) and Kigali (Rwanda). The freighter network of the European carrier now covers 44 international destinations.

Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of the Dubai (UAE)-based airline Emirates, is increasing its cargo capacity to Tokyo, when Emirates launches a daily non-stop flight between Dubai and Haneda airport today (3 June 2013). Haneda is located in Ota-ku (Tokyo), and handles the majority of domestic flights to and from that city; it opened its doors to international carriers following the inauguration of a fourth runway and the international terminal in October 2010.
